I will stamp all over 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the usual face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
